Opaline is a semi-opaque decorative glass that was specially popular in France during the 19th  century, particularly between 1800–1890 and was commonly used for vases, scent bottles, decanters, and ornamental objects.
    •    The glass was often hand-blown and hand-painted, and frequently had gilded or enameled floral motifs.

This pastel hue adds a touch of retro charm. This type of playful ornamentation was also seen in some Mid-Century designs, often reflecting a sense of optimism and informality.

This decanter was most likely intended for perfume or fragrant oils.Today, Mid-Century Modern glassware, including perfume decanters with unique designs and colors, is a popular collectible category, appreciated for its retro aesthetic and craftsmanship.
