Bohemia, currently Czech Republic  was the major hub region for luxury glass production, from the 18th Century onward, especially under the Hapsburg monarchy.

Notable manufacturers, Moser, Loetz, Harrach & Josef Riedel.

The designs drew inspiration from historical art and design, incorporating classical, Renaissance, and other historical motifs into their work. The piece's apparent Greek/Roman theme is a prime example of this.

Moser was particularly famous for its exquisite gold decorations, often applied with incredible precision and detail, sometimes using multiple layers and techniques to achieve a rich and textured effect.
